Since 1997, God’s calling for us has been to love and care for orphans and vulnerable children in developing countries. We are committed to providing holistic care for each child we serve, meeting spiritual, physical, educational, emotional and social needs that they might experience restoration in each area of development.
At Back2Back, our work is founded in the Biblical call to care for orphans. God has written dozens of promises specifically to this vulnerable population, promising to care for them, lift them, make them a home, execute true justice on their behalf and maintain their cause, just to name a few.
Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow.
We strive to live out God’s mandate to care for orphans. We also seek to be an advocate for orphans, recognizing without a strong advocate, they will likely suffer from oppression, abuse and injustice. This call is the driving force behind everything we do. Seeing hearts healed and futures restored is our passion as a ministry. We believe this is God’s desire for the fatherless, and we are privileged to be a part of the process.
Today, we provide care for today and hope for tomorrow to orphans and vulnerable children living in Mexico, Nigeria, India and Haiti. Care for today is accomplished, in part, through ministry teams and partners who visit year round and help provide basic necessities. The staff stands back to back with directors and caregivers who serve daily in the children’s homes and with single mothers and vulnerable children living in marginalized communities. We come alongside them with physical, financial and human resources, encouragement, prayer, and training. We are motivated by Paul’s teaching “that we are delighted to share not only the gospel, but our lives as well.” Hope for tomorrow is accomplished through an unwavering focus on the sustainability and development of the orphan and vulnerable child. We desire each child to be dependent on Jesus Christ, interdependent in his/her community and independent and sustainable in adulthood.
